I think I’ve unintentionally gone on a Splendour Bender with tonight catching The Fratellis, making them the fourth band I have seen in the past week who are on their way to the Splendour In The Grass festival. So while NOT ALL bands on the festival line-up are having Perth sideshows, we’re really making the most of it. The Breeders packed out Club Capitol last night but it’s the current Triple J indie-pop bands The Wombats (this Saturday!) and The Fratellis that sold out the venue within the first couple of days. The Presets sold out over the weekend too. No surprises there!

I honestly didn’t mean to (or maybe, didn’t realise I would) go hardcore and catch so many bands in such a small timeframe. I think my frustration with the large number of international acts not playing stopping in Perth has subconsciously forced me to go all out and catch as many acts as I can. Or maybe I’m making up for the couple of weeks of shooting that I didn’t do and so I might be trying to expel that pent up photo-energy.

So, with two more gigs in the next two days I’ve stocked up on lots of V Energy Drink to get me through the working days and working nights!
