Well, you heard that The Presets had postponed their national tour. They went to Glastonbury and a bunch of other European shows. Coming home from overseas, they resumed their national tour, fitter than ever. They’re doing the round up until the big Splendour In The Grass this weekend. Undoubtedly, The Presets are the biggest Australian electro-live act right now (though I’d like to say PNAU put on better live shows).

If I could capture an ounce of Taasha Coates’ soul, this photo would be it. She’s a woman, you know what I mean? Apologies to Wolfmother there. She is an embodiment of sensuality and it makes me shudder when I see her perform on-stage. Just look at those legs! But enough with the fantasies- I reckon The Audreys are currently the best Australian folk band out there. I’d sure as hope that they get a second ARIA for their latest album When The Flood Comes.

You can’t make good music if you don’t have a good band. Well, most of the time that’s the case anyway. The Audreys on-stage chemistry is so natural and warm. There are glances between bandmates and smiles all around. Ms. Coates will flow between her band as if she were the air around them. They just well so well together.

I’ve suddenly had the urge to blog, and I’ve got a lot of catching up to do! I’ll start with one of the highlights of the past few weeks.

There was only one reason why I wanted the Kisschasy photo-pass… it was because The Donnas were supporting! Their last visit to Australia was back in 2005 with the Big Day Out circuit and although they had promised to be back later that year, we’ve had to endure these past three years to see them again.

You see these women on the stage and they absolutely ROCK. Allison Robertson shreds up a mean lead guitar, channeling all those rock gods before her. On the lead vocals is Brett Anderson who has this raspy, no-nonsense voice which just oozes sex appeal. Though, my favourite is Torry Castellano on the drums. I just have a sweet spot for cute, blonde women who pound shit up.
