Supporting Kaiser Chiefs at the Enmore Theatre was Razorlight, who are also on tour with the V Festival. I am genuinely surprised that I recognised a fair few songs by them. It’s a bit sad that I’ve only just realised who these guys are, but that just means I’ll just enjoy them more at the festivals!

I guess them supporting the Kaiser Chiefs was pretty fitting, with an equally energetic frontman and a similar rock sound. It was a nice way to rev up the crowd for the headlining act.

This is just a nice little post for me before I head out to catch Elbow at the Metro Theatre!

After a hectic couple of days touring with the V Festival in Sydney and the Gold Coast, I’ve finally found the energy to blog! I present to you… Kaiser Chiefs playing at the Enmore Theatre in Newtown, NSW.

 

Funnily enough, this is the first time I’ve seen Kaiser Chiefs for the whole tour. At both V Festivals, I’ve always been elsewhere! So, I’m so very glad to be able to shoot their sideshow. A Kaiser Chiefs show never disappoints, with frontman Ricky Wilson and his signature erratic antics on stage!

 

I absolutely love the lighting at the Enmore Theatre. And the stage is at an awesome height too, only coming up to my chest. I’d seen hundreds of photos taken here from many other Flickr photographers, but to finally experience it for myself, it was a real pleasure!

 

And, speaking of Flickr photographers, here we have Ashley Mar and Lucky Perera were in the pit that night. It was the first time I had met Lucky and he is such a funny guy! It was an honour to meet the Strobist king… just check out these photos! Ash is a prolific Sydney photographer, doing a lot of social shots and red-carpet shoots at all those huge award ceremonies.

 

I thought I would be totally packing my dacks shooting at the Enmore Theatre - being an unknown venue to me - but, you know what? This whole tour has felt so natural shooting it. I really love doing this, no matter where I am.

So, it’s already Wednesday and I can’t sleep. In just over 24 hours, I will be making my way over to Sydney to start off the V Festival 2009 Australian Tour! You might have already heard of how I came to be here. I’m giddy and nervous and… oh, gee, I dunno! This is going to be one hell of a ride!
